DEBBY BRACKNELL, VOCALS

Debbyblack dressDebby has many years of experience as a professional singer in both live settings and in the studio. She started her vocal training at the Academy of Contemporary Music in Guildford, completing an HND in Vocals, and receiving the high accolade of most outstanding vocalist of the year.  She continued her studies at the Access to Music College in London where she worked towards an ATCL in Session Vocals passing with distinction.

An experienced and talented singer, Debby is more than comfortable singing most styles of music and in addition to A Train, has performed both lead and backing vocals with many successful function and tribute bands and original artists across the UK and abroad.  She can also be seen performing with well known British jazz-funk band Shakatak.

 

ANDY WALLS, PIANO & VOCALS

AndyPubs and palaces ,cabaret clubs and castles, hotels and holiday camps…Andy has played them all!

Although classically trained, jazz has always been a passion – both his Dad and cousin were jazz pianists.

Influences ? Too many to list here – anything from Fats Waller to Dmitri Shostakovitch ( genius,composer, Duke Ellington fan and football referee!).

Andy moved to Hampshire about 6 years ago after running a successful function band in Kent for many years. He also played in well – respected jazz funk outfit ‘The Groovechasers’- playing at many jazz venues and festivals and supporting artists such as Alex Garnett, Ray Gelato and Dennis Rollins.

 

 

ROGER HARDING, BASS

RogerbassRoger has played either upright bass or bass guitar in all types of rock, folk, and jazz outfits, since the 1960’s, more recently recording with “Yellotone” and making a cameo appearance on the last East of Eden album “Graffito” He is also resident bassist at Richmond Adult Community College Jazz School.

Roger & Alan have worked together as a rhythm section on many occasions and in many musical settings over the years.

 

 

 

 

ALAN COTTRELL, DRUMS

IMG_2907Alan’s percussive talent was first noticed at a very early age, bashing out rhythms on pots & pans along to his parents big band jazz records. They finally relented & bought him a drum kit!

Since then he has provided the rhythmic pulse to many bands, from rock to blues to folk & jazz & even the Royal Military School of Music Big Band.
